Online school reports

School reports being online present a real opportunity for schools to report to parents in an up to date fashion. But will school reports online really be beneficial to all ?

  • Many schools struggle to make financial ends meet so will putting reports online further drain their resources ?
  • Will putting school reports online increase the workload of already busy teachers ?
  • Will school staff be fully trained to ensure a good quality report online ?
  • Will there be security issues regarding online school reports ?
  • Do all parents have access to computers and the internet in order to access the online school reports for their child ?
These questions will certainly need to be answered before schools put reports online for all of the pupils in their care.

Online reports

School reports will soon be online reports if a policy by the now non-existent Becta still continues. It seems that the initial push towards all secondary school reports online by 2010 and all primary school reports online by 2012 has fallen by the wayside. Or has it ?

This was updated in July 2011 so it seems that the powers that be are still interested in the idea of school reports online.
